After School Clubs

Guidelines for Club Participation

  • Students must have a written permission to attend.
  • Students assigned to PM school may not participate in the club until all schoolwork is completed.
  • To remain in a club, students must abide by school and teacher expectations.
  • Transportation must be arranged prior to club attendance.
Schedule for Fall Clubs

Mesa Club

Meets Fridays 2:30-3:30pm in Room 110

This club meets to teach students about circuitry and the engineering and design process. Students will work to use technology in a way that solves a real-world problem. Applications are still being accepted. Contact Mr. Stroup to learn more

Multicultural Club

Time and Location: Check with Mrs. Daniels in Room 116

The purpose of Multicultural Club is to prepare dances and other performances for Multicultural Night on April 17th. As the event draws nearer, we will create some booths and posters as well.  You must find your own transportation OR notify Mrs. Daniels one week ahead of time that you need transportation. Please note that buses are only available during PM School weeks for students who live within walking distance of McKay or a McKay area elementary school.

Anime Club

Meets Thursdays 2:45-3:45pm in Room 207

Anime Club is a space for bringing together fans of Japanese cartoons, known as anime and manga. We meet once a week on Thursday, between 2:45- 3:45pm, after school. Students will draw, share favorite manga and anime series, and watch clips of age-appropriate anime shows together. Ms. Kent is the teacher chaperone of Anime Club. Everyone is welcome to attend, although occasionally students will need a parental permission slip to attend. The permission slip can be found at:

Chess Club

Meets Wednesdays 2:30-3:30pm in Room 115

Whether you’ve been playing for years or have never even seen a chess board you’re welcome to join us every Wednesday through March.  Student from all three grades are welcome to join and learn rules, new strategies or just test your skill against others. Contact Mr. Town in room 115.
